Civil War Walk

Discover the events of late May 1645 where a Parliamentarian force attacked and captured the town. Find out who the residents of Evesham were truly rooting for, what happened to the town’s Quakers and see the battle damage to some of Evesham’s most famous buildings!
Meeting at the Town Hall, the walk will cover Charles I’s visit to the town, and the subsequent fighting that took place on Bridge Street, Abbey Park, and the High Street.

Includes introductory talk at the Town Hall, including handling of reproduction weapons and armour. Walk lasts around an hour, suitable clothing and footwear for the weather is advised.
